PAX East 2020: Mayor of Boston Asks Sony to Reconsider

Many of us have already heard about Sony’s decision to pull out of PAX East 2020 because of the Coronavirus scare. However, a letter from the Mayor of Boston has been presented to Sony’s president, asking them to reconsider.

In an article written by WCVB, they state that Mayor Marty Walsh has asked that the president of Sony set an example as a “leader in technology.” According to the Boston Mayor, fears surrounding the Coronavirus are driven by fear and miseducation.

With this letter, Mayor Walsh is fighting to silence stereotypes and negative stigma that has developed toward generations of Asians as the virus has first appeared in Wuhan City, China.

Pax East is set to begin February 27 and will be held until March 1.
