First Look At The Last of Us HBO Series

We have now been given our first look at the Last of Us HBO series with a tweet in celebration of Naughty Dog day 2021. Fans have been eagerly waiting for more information on Joel and Ellie’s adventure on the TV screen and we can now digest a small image of what’s to come for our post-apocalyptic duo.

The image that came directly from Naughty Dog’s Twitter account depicts Joel and Ellie standing at the bottom of a hill looking up at a destroyed plane. One thing you may notice right away is that Joel and Ellie are wearing their original attire from the video game, which is a sign of Naughty Dog’s goal of maintaining a bit of authenticity with the original story.

Although there was no plane in the first Last of Us game, we can assume that Naughty Dog is using this opportunity to flesh out more stories that we couldn’t explore during the original game. Furthermore, the Last of Us HBO series is a good chance for more character development to take place, since it gives Neil Druckmann and other writers a different medium to explore a slew of other emotions altogether.

Many others involved in the development of the Last of Us HBO series also tweeted out about the new image. Neil Druckmann stated on his personal Twitter account, “When I first saw them on set in full costume, I was like: “Hooooooly shit! It’s Joel & Ellie!!” The @HBO adaptation of @Naughty_Dog‘s The Last of Us is full steam ahead! Can’t wait to show you more (from all of our projects!) Happy #TLoUDay!!!”

Pedro Pascal even got in on the celebration and said “I got you, baby girl.” The @HBO adaptation of #TheLastofUs is in production @PlayStation@Naughty_Dog#TLOUDay#HappyBirthdayJoel.

Though we don’t know a lot about the series, it has been confirmed by Craig Mazin that the first season will consist of 10 episodes. For more on The Last of Us HBO series be sure to check out our other articles. As always, thanks for reading. Stay Gritty, Gamers!
