Microsoft has recently unveiled plenty of information about its upcoming gaming console, the Xbox Series X, and gamers everywhere are excited. While Sony has been tight-lipped about what it is that the PS5 will feature, many are wondering if Sony has anything to show at all.
Xbox Game Pass
When you think about Microsoft and the new age of the Xbox, I’m sure there’s really one thing that comes to mind, game pass. Game pass is the thing that is front-lining Microsoft when it comes to the Xbox and it’s the one thing that Xbox has over the PlayStation in terms of features.
It’s not to say that the PlayStation doesn’t have its own version of Game Pass with the PlayStation Plus program, but it isn’t as much of a priority for Sony at the moment. The “Netflix of Video Games,” that is Game pass was launched back in 2017, so this is a feature that Xbox has been perfecting for a while now.
PlayStation has its own version of Game Pass with PlayStation Now but Sony is still in the middle of working out some kinks as it isn’t as good as Game Pass. Game Pass is the one thing that Microsoft has over Sony and Sony is adapting slowly.
Game Pass is a feature that will sell more consoles for Microsoft.
Xbox Smart Delivery
Xbox has also announced the Smart Delivery feature where gamers can buy a game on Xbox One and have it on the Xbox Series X for free once they purchase it.
The news of this feature has been presented with great praise from fans. Now it’s time to see if Sony will match Microsoft with the PS5. If they don’t, it may hurt their sales for the PS5 with so many heavy-hitter games coming out this year.
What Does Sony Have?
We all know the major thing that makes Sony a juggernaut over Microsoft when it comes to games, and that’s exclusives.
As of now, Xbox can’t compete with the PlayStation with their triple-A exclusive releases and Sony knows that. Microsoft has tried and failed to bring Xbox fans the exclusive games they want with no prevail, and this is Sony’s ace in the hole.
People are claiming that Sony doesn’t have anything to show since they backed out of E3 and PAX East this year due to the Coronavirus Scares, but Sony is doing exactly what they need to do. This is like a poker match between these two consoles right now. Sony holds all the cards, so they don’t need to make any moves. The PlayStation 4 is still a much better seller than the Xbox One so there really isn’t a need to make any announcements on their end.
Both companies are using the ideal strategy for their current situation. Microsoft: plant the seed early and get customers on board to purchase our console. Sony: have the customers waiting on what’s next and see what Microsoft is doing.
Either way, this is an exciting year for gamers!

Do you think this is true or does Sony really not have anything to show? Comment below. As always, thanks for reading and stay Gritty, Gamers.
Of course they have PS5 games in the works for launch and launch year. But it doesn’t make much sense to overshadow PS4 releases until at least The Last of US 2 comes out. Tjere are a lot of second party games combing too . Nioh 2 , new Yakuza rpg Persona 5 Royal etc They have over 100 million PS4s out there they are still catering to. Next gen doesn’t start until the end of the year , there is plenty of time for information to be released . MS has to say something as they don’t have a steady flow of big games coming only to Xbox .
I couldn’t agree more
The Last of Us 2 > xbox
Easy victory for Sony. 2013 all over again
The Last of Us 2 > xbox
Easy victory for Sony. 2013 all over again
Show me AAA games or bust
Lmao many are wondering if Sony has something to show at all? That’s hilarious. Not only does Sony still have amazing games to publish this year, the PS5 dev kit has been with developers for far longer than the XBox SX one on top.
