Here are a few things that many fans may not know about this first-person game from Bethesda.
Ghostwire Tokyo Announcement Trailer
Before we get more into Ghostwire: Tokyo, watch the trailer from the PlayStation 5 event, so you can get a feel of what to expect from this eerie game.
When Is Ghostwire Tokyo Coming Out?
Ghostwire: Tokyo will be coming out sometime in 2021. The PlayStation 5 will be dropping during the holiday season, so fans will have a considerable amount of time to get acquainted with their new console before they get to play this action-packed game. Director, Shinji Mikami has released a few of his horror games around September or October, including the Evil Within series. This makes sense because this is around the time that people get ready for Halloween and their mood is already primed for scary stories and games.
Is Ghostwire: Tokyo A Horror Game
There has been some confusion about whether or not Ghostwire: Tokyo is a horror game, and depending on the source, you may get different answers. Ghostwire: Tokyo is not a horror game. According to the official Bethesda website,
“Those who are familiar with Shinji Mikami and Tango Gameworks are familiar with their strong pedigree in horror. But Ghostwire is not horror. Though there is an eerie element to the world, this is the studio’s first foray into the action-adventure sphere. They are taking their strengths in building a tense atmosphere and unforgettable creatures and bringing them into something completely new and different.”
This may have been obvious to some, as the trailer portrays an action-adventure feel to it with the fast-paced music and action-packed attacks, but the creatures within the trailer may throw some fans off the trail. Well, this quote from Bethesda will clear things up for any confused fans.
Ghostwire: Tokyo Only On PS5
Yes, Ghostwire: Tokyo will be an exclusive game for Sony’s PlayStation 5. This may be disappointing to many PlayStation fans as this won’t be the only game that is exclusive to the PS5. Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales will be another big hit that will only be available for next-gen consoles. This should come as no surprise, as Sony will need to incentivize more PS5 sales, and many of the new games that we have seen have noticeably pushed pass the PS4 capabilities.
