Fortnite Season 5: So, There's A Car You Can Drive Now! 1

Unless you live under a rock, I’m sure you know that Fortnite Season 5 has released this morning!

My first impression was that it was the usual Fortnite, just with a few new costumes and animations to add to the mix, but I was totally wrong. Upon looking at the map, you’ll see that there is a new area called Paradise Palms. This area is placed on the bottom right half of the map in the desert. Like most, my first instinct was to drop there and take look at the new terrain, but there was nothing really special about it. However, apparently Cacti have wood in them, go figure.

There are a bunch of subtle changes you can find with the new update. One being that the numbers have a different design when breaking items for materials. Another change you’ll notice is that the hit markers are different. When shooting, if your bullets hit, they are indicated by small red dots wherever your bullets make contact.

I have only dropped into one game so far so I haven’t gotten the chance to see all the changes, but the biggest thing I’ve seen so far was the fact that there is a freaking car in Fortnite Season 5. It took me by surprise while I was exploring the map for my next kill when I heard what sounded like an engine rumbling. The closer I got the louder it was, so I crept up to the unlicensed driver and found them stopped in the middle of the road trying to figure out the mechanics.

I killed the driver, but sadly, I didn’t get to drive the car myself. I’ll be hopping back into a game of Fortnite later today. For more updates follow us on twitter @gamergritty and subscribe to our newsletter!
