There are a number of interesting characters and great backstories in Black Clover but Vanessa Enoteca has quickly become one of my favorites. Her carefree attitude makes her seem like a lazy lush who would rather drink wine than train her magic abilities, but there is more to this character than meets the eye. Vanessa has a troubled past, which has led her to where she currently is now.

Picking apart what she has gone through, let’s dive deeper into who Vanessa Enoteca is and dig up some interesting facts about this seductive witch.

6. Vanessa Enoteca Age

It’s pretty clear from the beginning of Black Clover that Vanessa is older than a few of her squadmates considering the fact that she is a heavy drinker. The luscious witch could always be seen lounging in her underwear as she sips from a bottle of wine and jokes with the other members of the Black Bulls, so it’s evident that Vanessa is a bit older since she is of drinking age. It turns out that Vanessa Enoteca is actually 24 years old at the start of the series.

Vanessa Enoteca has a troubled past (which we’ll get more into later) and that explains why she may occasionally indulge in a few drinks from time to time. Now that we have that out of the way, you won’t have to wonder if Vanessa is an underage drinker or not.

5. Vanessa Enoteca Grimoire And Cat

Vanessa is a talented witch who uses thread magic to tangle her unsuspecting foes who happen to underestimate her true power. Vanessa can be a useful support mage during battle, as we’ve seen numerous times before when she has assisted Asta and other members of the Black Bulls during some of their most high-stakes battles. As the show progressed, Vanessa increased her power to the point that she was almost unstoppable when accompanied by her red thread of fate cat.

The cat that Vanessa possesses is created from her red thread and stays by Vanessa’s side during battle. With this cat, Vanessa is able to change the outcome of most events during battle. This means that Vanessa can literally change any scenario to favor her and her squadmates when things aren’t going their way. This power is virtually unstoppable, as long as Vanessa has the energy and will to continue fighting and adjusting circumstances.

4. Vanessa and Captain Yami

Though it may not be directly discussed on the show, Vanessa has affection for Captain Yami. This stems from her dark past of being held captive by the Witch Queen and Captain Yami intervened, freeing Vanessa from her prison.

At one point during the show, Vanessa and Yami were planning to relax and drink together, but Vanessa ended up postponing the arrangement. Although the two are squadmates, who knows how things would have turned out if this encounter had actually taken place.

3. Troubling Past

As mentioned before, Vanessa endured a dark past before her days with the Black Bulls. Coming from the Witch’s Forest, The Witch Queen saw the potential in Vanessa’s thread magic and forced her to train, leading to her captivity. While in captivity, the Witch Queen wanted to keep Vanessa in isolation so she could slowly hone her amazing power.

As a result of her captivity, Vanessa developed strong feelings of anger toward the Witch Queen. Later in the show, Vanessa is forced to ask the Witch Queen for help in freeing Asta from a debilitating curse that uses blood magic. From that point on, the Witch Queen has helped Vanessa become even stronger, in her own selfishly twisted ways.

2. Vanessa Is a Taurus

Vanessa was born on May 16 which makes her a Taurus. There isn’t much else to be said about this fact, it’s just cool to know that this caring and easygoing character is a Taurus. After Asta’s introduction to the Black Bulls, Vanessa has grown into her own and has become one of the most warmhearted characters on the show.

1. Vanessa Enoteca Voice Actor

Vanessa is voiced by Japanese actress Nana Mizuki. Nana Mizuki has played many notable characters including Hinata from Naruto and has even branched from anime to voice Fragile in Death Stranding. On the English dubbed version of Black Clover, Vanessa is voiced by Lydia Mackay, who has also voiced many other notable anime characters.
