Let’s face it, EA has made some weak decisions with their Star Wars license thus far. After 6 years with the license, EA has failed to produce anything notable. Other than the major backlash that came with the microtransaction debacle, there hasn’t been much said about EA and the Star Wars license. However, with the announcement of Jedi Fallen Order, things may change for the better for this gaming juggernaut.
Backed by Respawn, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order has the potential to put EA back in our good graces, if only slightly. Games created by Respawn have a different feel. The traversal, the shooting, the weapon designs, it all comes together for a unique experience. The most recent example of this is Apex Legends. From the moment I played a match of Apex I was hooked, making my playtime with any other Battle Royale game scarce.
So Why Will Jedi Fallen Order be different?
Not only does Respawn have talent when it comes to gameplay and design, but they also have the minds to craft an amazing story. A great story-driven Star Wars game is something fans have been yearning for. Thus far, EA has capitalized on the name of Star Wars to drive sales and microtransactions by using multiplayer gameplay, opposite of what many fans want.
It’s already confirmed that Star Wars: Jedi Fallen order won’t have multiplayer nor will it feature microtransactions, meaning it already has the recipe for the type of game many of us want. Respawn has already proven that they can create an amazing story based games as we’ve seen with the Titanfall series, and they have proven their prowess with multiplayer as we’ve seen with the record-breaking Apex Legends.
Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is set to release November 15. Let’s see if Respawn Entertainment can maintain their track record and continue to make fans proud.
